P&O 2015 Fleet Spectacular

In November 2015 I was lucky enough to witness P&O’s historic five ship fleet spectacular on Sydney harbour. The ships came together to mark the arrival of the company’s two latest cruise ships Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden. The Aria and Eden were joined by the Pacific Dawn, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl. The fleet and 12,000 passengers remained in port for the day with concerts aboard each ship before an evening fireworks show over Sydney harbour.

Golden journey

I love riding the Manly ferry to the city. No traffic, car fumes or delays and scenes like this. Snapped this shot from one Manly ferry as it passed another sailing into the sunset. Fun fact – the Manly ferries never turn around to dock, they have two identical wheelhouses at either end so they can travel forwards or backwards.

Welcome to SydneyShipSpotter

Hello fellow ship and cruise enthusiasts. My name is Jon Hall and I live in Sydney, Australia and commute every day on the best harbour in the world.

One of the highlights of my day is being out on the water and I always have a camera ready to capture the many cruise ships that come calling.

I’ve been fascinated by these floating cities since I was a kid. I decided to start this page to share some of the photos I’m lucky enough to capture in my own backyard and I hope you enjoy them.profile photo
